"I'm just a regular guy who just wants to have friendship and good times. And I like meeting people," he told People Saturday. "I'm single ... per se."
Of Hailey Glassman, he says, "She's always a good friend of mine. Her family is so good. They took me in and I lived there for a while. I love them to death."
Jon and the 22-year-old party girl ditz began dating right after he separated from wife Kate Gosselin. They went public in July during a trip to St. Tropez. He said his heart belongs to Hailey Glassman. But right now, they are "on a bit of a break."
"She doesn't like this [craziness]. She loves me for who I am and not for what I do," says the Ed Hardy-wearing father of eight. "We are going to chill out for a while and see where it takes us. I'm not looking for anyone."
Did things go south because he was spotted with Star magazine reporter Kate Major, who resigned because of a "conflict of interest" and "falling for Jon"?

Despite all the questions about his life as a new bachelor, Jon Gosselin still has the right priority - hanging out with Michael Lohan. Oh, right, and his family.
"I'm just trying to concentrate on my family first, second my career. That's what I have to do," says Jon, who is heading home to Pennsylvania this week.
"I'm really looking forward to it – to turning my phone off, playing with my kids in the pool and being the dad. Kate [Gosselin] and I are just figuring out how we are going to live. If she's got to work, I go home. If I've got to work, she stays."

Alexis Cohen, who was ridiculed by Simon Cowell and termed the Green Goblin during auditions for American Idol, was killed on the New Jersey shore Saturday.
According to the The Asbury Park Press, Alexis Cohen, 25, was apparently struck and killed by a car in what authorities are calling an apparent homicide.
Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office reports that an autopsy revealed that the Allentown, Pa., passed away after suffering severe chest, abdominal and closed head injuries as a result of the collision.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into Alexis Cohen's death, asking anyone with information on the hit and run to speak up.
Alexis Cohen provided one of American Idol's most colorful tryouts.
Cohen rose to reality stardom after her 2007 American Idol audition resulted in a showdown with Cowell, who likened her to the Spider-Man character.
Alexis responded with a bird-flipping rant, in which she claimed to "march to the beat of a different drummer" while vowing to "leave with [her] dignity."
Resilient, she returned to audition in 2008. Again, she was shown the door.

Don't know why Kimberly Wyatt is? That's because Nicole Scherzinger is, like, the only focus of the Pussycat Dolls, and the other Dolls are not pleased.
One by one, Nicole is being assailed by her fellow Dolls line up to complain about how she gets all the press, the fans' attention and blah blah blah blah.
We didn't realize she got that much, but hey. If Kimberly Wyatt is jealous and wants to rant about wanting celebrity gossip attention, more power to her.
“There has always been a lot of focus on Nicole which has been hard to deal with sometimes," Wyatt said. "Every video and stage performance we’ve done."
"Nicole has been our leader, and I wasn’t in videos like I wanted and wasn’t seen in the way I was hoping, which has been the same for the other girls too.”

Michael Jackson's rumored love child, Omer Bhatti, has revealed how the star made him his "honorary" son after inviting him to move in with him years ago.
Omer Bhatti, 25, hails from Norway, and lived at Neverland ranch for eight years. Rumors say Jackson fathered him during a one-night stand with his mom, Pia.
But he says there is no biological link between them, despite the rumors that he is Jackson's secret son. He says the music legend was just his "best friend."
Omer, who still lives in Norway, reveals that Jackson used to say that he was "like a son" to him and thinks that must be the reason for the love child rumors.
Confiding in a close friend from Oslo, Omer Bhatti said: “Michael Jackson is not my father. He and I were just very, very close. He was my best friend.”
Omer was a guest of honor at Jackson’s memorial service in L.A. two weeks ago – sitting along with the pop legend’s closest relatives in the front row.
“Michael always used to say I was like a son to him,” he said. “But my true parents are in Norway. The reason I was asked to sit with his family at the memorial service is because I was Michael’s closest friend – not because I am his son.”
Bhatti also confided in a girl pal: “Michael was such a special person to me and I cannot believe he is gone, I am in total shock. I have lost weight because I cannot eat anything. All I can think about is how Michael died.”
Omer Bhatti says he moved to Neverland Ranch in 1996 after Michael Jackson met him and his parents in Tunisia where 12-year-old Omer had been on holiday.
Jackson was so taken with Omer, who he dubbed "Little Michael," that he had the adolescent boy, his mother, father and sister move to L.A. with him immediately.
Michael gave Omer’s mum Pia a job as a nanny for his son Prince Michael and employed dad Huayoun as a driver. Meanwhile, he and Omer grew very, very close.
Another of Omer’s friends, Ricky Harlow, also reveals how Omer’s bond with Jackson grew so strong that he shared the star’s bed – while his family stayed in a cottage in a different part of the sprawling Neverland complex.
Amazingly, the sleepovers took place at a time when Michael Jackson was still reeling from allegations that he had molested 13-year-old Jordan Chandler.

When paramedics arrived at Michael Jackson's house, he was already dead and it took them a while to even realize the victim was the music icon, new reports say.
Jackson was flatlined when the paramedics arrived shortly after noon PST on June 25. There was no electrical activity in Michael's heart and no sign of life.
Paramedics wanted to pronounce him dead at the scene but Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician, insisted the singer be transported to the hospital.
As a higher medical authority than the EMTs, Dr. Conrad Murray had the power to overrule them. So it went and EMT personnel could not "call it" at his home.
Paramedics didn't realize for nearly 10 minutes the victim was Michael Jackson. As one emergency worker put it: "It just looked like a frail, old, sickly man."
Meanwhile, law enforcement sources continuing to investigate Conrad Murray say he kept a stash of drugs - including the powerful anesthesia Propofol, which they think stopped Michael Jackson's heart - hidden in his closet.
Sources say when the LAPD first searched Jackson's home the night he died, they did not turn up Propofol or many of the other drugs that were in his house.
Dr. Murray talked to the LAPD the following Saturday and the incriminating statements he supplied triggered another, broader search warrant, police are saying.
Cops returned to the house the next Monday and found "various drugs" clandestinely stashed in a closet of the guest room where Dr. Conrad Murray stayed.
Dr. Murray himself apparently told detectives about the closet when interviewed, triggering the search and ultimately a manslaughter investigation against him.
A law enforcement source tells TMZ that "The drugs were concealed... they weren't obvious." Among the stash - Propofol, the drug they believe killed Jackson.
Anyone else her age (24), and with her current career resume (posing naked), we would likely mock for writing a memoir. But we just can't with her.
"I feel like the luckiest girl in the world," she says in a statement released by publisher Simon Spotlight Entertainment, who will publish K-Dubs' book.
"I have a husband I adore, a baby on the way, and my memoir is going to be published!" Best of all, you can read her thoughts and not have to listen to her laugh!
The book - scheduled to hit stores next summer - will explore Wilkinson's childhood, her Playboy years (including her romance with Hugh Hefner), her time with The Girls Next Door and Kendra, and newlywed life with NFL star Hank Baskett.
"The memoir will be a humorous, relatable, fish-out-of-water tale capturing the spirit of one of the most beloved Playboy models in history," says the release.
Adds Jennifer Bergstrom of Simon Spotlight Entertainment: "Kendra Wilkinson is so genuine and funny that her memoir is sure to be unique and refreshing."

Jon Gosselin may have been seen with Kate Major lately, but he says he is a one-woman man. That one woman is Hailey Glassman, of course, not his wife Kate.

Jon and Hailey have been hitting it for a little while now, and went public on a romantic trip to St. Tropez. But then he sparked controversy with a couple of appearances with Kate Major in New York and in the Hamptons the following week.
Gosselin says rumors of him being romantically involved with Major are lies and that dating multiple women is "not me." One woman while still married? All good.
Kate Major resigned from her job as a reporter at Star, citing a conflict of interest for "falling for him." Jon says they are just friends and Kate Major is a liar.
In any case, Jon Gosselin has been hanging out with Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael, in Southampton for the past week. Talk about good for your image.
Yesterday afternoon, the troubled tandem went shopping at J.Crew, where Gosselin spent a hefty $423.05 on T-shirts, flip flops and boxer shorts.
Last week, in an effort to prove that she's more than just a pair of large breasts, Kim Kardashian took a trip to Africa to help feed hungry families there.
Upon her return, she was faced with a series of critical remarks about her relationship with Reggie Bush, an African-American.
"I don't understand it because I was raised to not see color," she told a Fox affiliate in New York. "But you're still faced with it."
Kim Kardashian doesn't see color. But she has a sharp eye for PR opportunities.
What, exactly, did folks say?
"All the comments were, 'How dare she go to Africa,' and it's just like, you know what, I can't believe that charity work is being judged, and I can't believe people would even comment on that and I think it's really disgusting," Kim said.
We agree. But we also question the existence of these comments. Has anyone out there read a critical word about Kim and Reggie?
Fortunately, the reality TV star will carry on. She has a positive attitude.
"I hope by the time Reggie and I have kids, things will be different."
